Scottish Data Systems was initially established in 1991 to specialise in the supply and procurement of Digital (DEC) Equipment.

Over the past 18 years the IT industry has grown and changed immeasurably and Scottish Data Systems has moved with it. In 2006, to reflect these changes we became SDS Spares LLP, a name which better encompasses the services we now provide.

Our Sales Department:

We now hold over 75,000 items from 254 different manufacturers in our warehouses, from obsolete hard to find parts to the latest servers, networking equipment and storage solutions.

Between them our sales team have over 30 years experience in helping customers find the right parts, spares, upgrades and systems. Their knowledge is supported by that of time served engineers in our workshop and between them this team is able to guide our customers through the myriad of systems and options available today, ensuring that the right part is where they need it, when they need it.

Although we feel that one of our strengths lies in our policy never to advertise anything that we don't actually hold in stock; should you require a product which we are not showing; we have access to a worldwide network of quality suppliers allowing us to swiftly locate the part you are looking for. 

Our Engineering Department:

SDS is fortunate to have time served experienced DEC engineers in our workshop and as such have been able to offer a comprehensive repair and upgrade service to our customers across the full range of HP/DEC Alpha/Vax and Storageworks systems alongside the older PDP11 range for many years.

Naturally all associated tape libraries, disk storage and SAN products also come under our care and we are now pleased to be able to offer this same level of service to customers with alternative product such as Sun Microsystems, Fujitsu Siemens, Dell and IBM.
